Verse:
"But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31 (NRSV)
Reflection:
There are seasons in life when we feel worn down — when each day feels like a battle and our strength seems to slip away little by little. In these times, we may try to draw energy from ourselves, from others, or from distractions that only offer temporary relief.
But God invites us to a different kind of renewal. He calls us to wait for Him — to pause, rest, and trust. Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means leaning into His promises and depending on His timing.
Isaiah reminds us that when we wait on the Lord, He doesn’t just give us enough energy to get by. He gives us wings to soar above our struggles. He renews us so deeply that we can run without exhaustion and walk through trials without giving up.
The strength God offers is not merely physical stamina but an inner resilience that anchors us in hope and peace, no matter what comes our way.
Today's Invitation:
Take a moment today to pause and breathe deeply in God’s presence. Release the burdens you've been carrying and ask Him to renew your strength. Trust that He will lift you up and give you all you need for today and the days ahead.
Prayer:
Lord, I confess that I often try to rely on my own strength. Help me to wait on You and trust in Your perfect timing. Renew my spirit, fill me with Your peace, and help me to soar above my worries. Thank You for being my constant source of strength. Amen.
