Today’s Reflection
When you read of the vast accommodations of God’s mansion, what kind of a household does your imagination build? What kind of people live there, and how do they make out of a household, a home; out of many, a family? How many extensions have been built; or has it always been, like the embrace of God, infinite, standing ready to receive every orphan into a family broader and deeper than creation, as broad and high and deep and enduring as love itself?
—Rosalind C. Hughes, A Family Like Mine: Biblical Stories of Love, Loss, and Longing (Upper Room Books, 2020)
Today’s Question
How would you answer the questions in today’s reflection?
Today’s Scripture
[Jesus said,] “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”—John 14:2 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
How infinite is your embrace, O God. How broad and high and deep and enduring is your love. Amen.
