Today’s Reflection

Even when Jonah rages against God’s decision to spare the Ninevites, God doesn’t lecture, smite, or walk away. God stays in relationship with Jonah by asking questions. Questions can keep us connected even when we are confused.

—Sharon Seyfarth Garner, Praying with Jonah: Practices for Imperfect Pilgrims (Upper Room Books, 2026)

Today’s Question

Have God’s decisions ever made you angry? What was God’s response to your anger? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil ways, God changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them, and he did not do it. But this was very displeasing to Jonah, and he became angry.—Jonah 3:10–4:1 (NRSVUE)

Prayer for the Week

God, your call on my life is not something I can simply run away from. Show me your will, and give me the courage to follow through. Amen.
