Scripture:
"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you."— Ephesians 4:32 (NRSV)
Devotional Thought:
Kindness isn’t weakness. In the Kingdom of God, it’s strength wrapped in gentleness. When we choose kindness, we choose to reflect the heart of Christ in a world that often forgets compassion.
Jesus embodied kindness. He welcomed the outsider, healed the hurting, and forgave the undeserving. His kindness was radical—it crossed boundaries, defied expectations, and offered hope. As followers of Christ, we’re called to walk in that same spirit.
Today, you may not feel strong. You may not feel noticed. But even a small act of kindness—a word, a gesture, a pause to truly listen—can become a seed of grace in someone’s life. God can use your kindness to heal wounds, restore dignity, and open hearts to His love.
Kindness may not be loud, but it is never wasted. It is part of the fruit of the Spirit and evidence that Christ is alive in you.
Reflection Questions:
When have you felt the transforming power of someone else’s kindness?
Who in your life needs a gentle word or a patient response today?
How can you let the Holy Spirit grow kindness in your heart this week?
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank You for Your kindness that never runs dry. Teach me to be tenderhearted and forgiving, even when it’s difficult. Fill me with Your Spirit so that kindness flows from me as naturally as breathing. Let my words and actions be a light to others and a reflection of Your mercy. Amen.
