Today’s Reflection
To everyone’s surprise, the judgment rests entirely on care for those who are poor, strangers, sick, and in prison. . . . These people in need are Jesus. Whatever we do for people in need, we do for Jesus.
—Elizabeth Mae Magill, When Did We See You? A Lenten Exploration of Poverty and Wealth(Upper Room Books, 2026)
Today’s Question
What is one actionable step you can take to care for the least of these—for Jesus—this Lent? Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’—Matthew 25:40 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
God, as I fast this Lent, teach me to see you in the faces of the least of these. Draw close to me so I will give generously to the poor, stranger, sick, and imprisoned. Amen.
