Scripture:

“Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.” – Luke 23:56 (NIV)

Reflection:

Holy Saturday is the in-between day—a day of silence, waiting, and uncertainty. The cross has done its work. Jesus’ body lies in the tomb. The disciples are scattered, grieving, confused. Heaven is quiet.

We don’t often talk about this day, but it speaks to every heart that has ever waited in the dark. When the miracle hasn’t come yet. When prayers feel unanswered. When all we can do is wait and trust.

Holy Saturday reminds us that God is still working, even in the silence. Though we may not see it, resurrection is coming. The stone will roll away. But for now, we sit with the silence, knowing that God’s silence does not mean His absence.

Prayer:

Father,

Today I feel the weight of the silence. Help me to trust You in the waiting. When I don’t see the full picture, give me the faith to believe You are still moving. Thank You for being a God who works even in the dark places. I will wait with hope, knowing that Sunday is coming.

Amen.
