Today’s Reflection
Daily reading and reflection enrich our attending to God during Advent. . . .The small amount of time it takes can be a gift to ourselves and to God as we record our insights and explore what God may be saying to us.
—Mary Lou Redding, While We Wait: Living the Questions of Advent (Upper Room Books, 2002)
Today’s Question
When have you given yourself the gift of quiet moments to reflect during Advent? How could you plan to set aside time for reflection this Advent? Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.—Isaiah 30:15 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
Holy God, help us to hear you calling us to come home during Advent. Guide us to set aside time for reflection on the questions we have about the wonder of your Son’s birth. Thank you for the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ. Help us to focus on him and reflect his compassion and love to others especially during this season. Amen.
