*Call to Praise: Unison
God, Creator, for your glory shining forth in sky and sea, in the changing light on the hills, for the gift of life in all its fullness, we thank you. Jesus, Redeemer, for blessing children, healing the sick, raising up the lowly, suffering the brokenness of the world in your own body, that we might have fullness of life, we thank you. Holy Spirit, for breathing new hope and strength into our lives, drawing human beings together in love, resisting all that diminishes fullness of life, we thank you. Holy Trinity, in all that we do and say and are, may we always choose life, for ourselves and for our neighbors. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Praise In Song: America # 697
1. My country, ‘tis of these, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing; land where my father’s died, land of the pilgrims’ pride, from every mountain side, let freedom ring!
2. My native country, thee, land of the noble free, thy name I love; I love the rocks and rills, thy woods and templed hills; my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.
3. Let music swell the breeze, and ring from all the trees sweet freedom’s song; let mortal tongues awake; let all that breathe partake; let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.
4. Our fathers’ God, to thee, author of liberty, to thee we sing; long may our land be bright with freedom’s holy light; protect us by they might, great God, our King
* God Bless America
1. God bless America, land that I loveStand beside her and guide herThrough the night with the light from above
[Refrain]
From the mountains to the prairiesTo the oceans white with foamGod bless America, my home sweet home
Scripture Reading: Acts 16:9-15
Children’s Time
Hymn of Prayer: America The Beautiful # 696
1. O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain; for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.
2. O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life! American! America! May God thy gold refine, till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine.
3. O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law.
Lifting Up Our Prayers
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
Offering Our Gifts

Gospel Lesson: John 14:23-29
The Message: Listen: Have Peace
Hymn of Going Forth: Battle Hymn of The Republic # 717
1. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; he hath loosed the fateful lightening of his terrible swift sword; his truth is marching on.
[Refrain]
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
2. I have seen him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps, they have builded him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read his righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; his day is marching on.
[Refrain]
3. He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; he is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgement seat; O be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on.
[Refrain]
4. In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on.
[Refrain]
5. He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, he is wisdom to the mighty, he is honor to the brave; so the world shall be his foot-stool, and the soul wrong his slave. Our God is marching on.
[Refrain]
